When it comes to grime crews none are quiet making the noise Family Tree are, yes we still have the old guard such as Ruff Sqwad and Roll Deep around but when it comes to generating hype and promo there are none as talked about as much as Family Tree and that’s simply because they define what grime is today and here 3 members of the crew Merky Ace, Ego and TKO drop a freestyle for Dj Cameo that show us EXACTLY why they are held in such high esteem…..check it below.
The combination of Merky Ace and Family Tree in house producer is one of the best in grime with the pairing already having come together to make so many bangers and this brand new one from Merky Ace titled ‘Eff Tizzy’ is no different.
This week on Logan Samas afterhours sets so Jammer pass through with some of the mcs who featured on the recent Lord Of The Mics 3 dvd and subsequent tour, Kozzie, Merky Ace, Desperado, TKO and Lay Z who all go in with some massive bars, once again the set is filmed by Aaron Hanson from the HansonsHouse blog.

Logan Samas recent After Hours sets have been making waves amidst the grime scene for many months now and the latest set which features Flowdan, MIK, Ego, Merky Ace, J Deep, Obese and Discarda is all set to follow the trend as each mc brings their different styles of barrage to the fore as Logan drops some of the biggest instrumentals floating about in grime, listen below.
The last 2 years have seen a meteoric rise in the grime career of Family Trees Merky Ace that have seen his name pushed to the very forefront of the scene and on the tips of every grime fans tongue up and down the country, already boasting a healthy back catalogue of some 10 free download promos and mixtapes as well as the retail releases Blue Battlefield and Recycle Bin Merky is about to set the grime scene alight yet again with his forthcoming release ‘Catch Up EP’.
Boasting ten tracks that are sure to be full of Merkys violent-esque bars and catching rhyming schemes the Catch Up EP is sure to resonate Merkys name further, as with a lot of Merkys previous releases you can expect fellow Family Tree members to feature with MIK and Ego given the job of supporting as well as in house producers Splurt, The Killa Omen and Faze Miyake.

Just a quick post here to keep you upto date with one of the best mcs in the grime scene ‘Merky Ace’ and to let you know about his forthcoming release the ‘Catch Up EP’ which is scheduled for a 12th December release on all good digital stores.
There is no tracklist as of yet but were told tracks such as War and Catch Up will be on there, look out for more details soon and the official EP trailer that will hit youtube shortly.
For now prepare yourself, because if it’s anything like Blue Battlefield it’s going to be very special.
