Merky Ace – Catch Up EP [Release Details & Info]

The last 2 years have seen a meteoric rise in the grime career of Family Trees Merky Ace that have seen his name pushed to the very forefront of the scene and on the tips of every grime fans tongue up and down the country, already boasting a healthy back catalogue of some 10 free download promos and mixtapes as well as the retail releases Blue Battlefield and Recycle Bin Merky is about to set the grime scene alight yet again with his forthcoming release ‘Catch Up EP’.

Boasting ten tracks that are sure to be full of Merkys violent-esque bars and catching rhyming schemes the Catch Up EP is sure to resonate Merkys name further, as with a lot of Merkys previous releases you can expect fellow Family Tree members to feature with MIK and Ego given the job of supporting as well as in house producers Splurt, The Killa Omen and Faze Miyake.

As well as the above named producers you can also expect to hear beats by the likes of Flava D, Sukh Knight, Relentless and Neon Beats on tracks such as War, 1 Spliff and You Think You Know Me.

There’s a reason why Merky Ace is so highly rated and the Catch Up EP is yet again going to showcase exactly why, if it’s 100% grime you’re after then this is a release for you, Catch Up EP lands digitally on the 12th december so make sure you get copping.

RD – Radio [Prod By Sukh Knight]

2010 was a year that really saw the name ‘RD’ being echoed around the scene as he impressed many with his wide range of bars and cutting flow that he showed off on the mixtapes ‘Global Warning’ alongside his Nationality cohorts and his solo release ‘Hear Me Out’ and 2011 sees no sign of RD letting up as he showcases his ability on Dubstep for his new track ‘Radio’ which is produced by True Tigers Sukh Knight.

To say this track is massive would be an understatement, RD goes in with some heavy barrage over a Sukh Knight production that is a skankers with the accompanying video telling the story of the track well.

RDs delivery captivates you throughout with the Sukh Knight production allowing RD to express himself with ease, which surprised me as im not really a fan of dubstep but there’s no half hearted lyrics here or bars that just act as fillers, everything has a place and it gels perfectly.

Random Impulse – Slang Like This Refix

Slightly later than usual this week is Random Impulse with his weekly refix and this week he’s decided to refix perhaps one of the biggest tunes out right now, im talking about the True Tiger and P.Money link up on the track ‘Slang Like This’, given a full Random refix this weeks is perhaps my personal favourite, could be because I rate the original of the track or because personally for me Random Impulse is one of the scenes best, it doesnt matter to me, this is just top drawer stuff from Random, listen below.

P.Money ft Blacks, D Double E & Footsie – Slang Like This Remix [Video]

Released on the 1oth of october the P.Money and Sukh Knight link-up on Slang Like This earned rave reviews from the grime fans and many considered it the single release of 2010 and now just a few weeks later P and Sukh Knight of True Tiger have decided the grime fans needed a remix, enlisting the vocal abilities of P’s fellow Ogs member Blacks and the legends that are the Newham Generals aka D Double and Footsie they drop what is an absolute banger on which all four emcees drop some of their hardest bars over a very sick production, the video is typical stuff, the emcees recite their lyrics while surrounded by friends and Joe Public but then I guess the video doesnt need to be oscar worthy when the track is this good.
